RIM Fabrications started as a sole trader company by Roddy McDonald working from a small shed at the rear of his house at East Leschangie.  Now 35 years on, hard work and ambition has seen the company experience rapid growth and expansion and boasts over 90 employees.   RIM now occupies a purpose built facility at Midmill in Kintore on the outskirts of Aberdeen with 37,500sq.ft production area and capacity of 350 tonnes of steel a week.  The company has also invested extensively in the purchase of plant and increased automation.  

RIM works closely with sister companies, E-blast and E-clad, both now also located at Midmill.  E-blast provides full surface preparation and coatings services - principally to the offshore oil and gas industry.  The company has enjoyed continued growth which has enabled investment in state-of-the-art equipment and painting facilities which are one of the largest in Scotland with a 31,000 sw. ft. paint shop and a 15,000 sw.ft. specialist painting facility.  E-clad is one of the largest Independent supplier of Metal Building Products throughout Scotland and is committed to offering a total building package; from roof and walls to structural decks from simple fabricated flashings to complex bespoke details.

Health and safety is obviously of major importance, both for our staff and our clients and the company has attained accredication from SAFE Contractor.
